GameFest 2023 GameFest Convention July 28th – 31st 2023 Sheraton Dallas Hotel

COVID Policies for AnimeFest 2022

AnimeFest will be July 29 - August 1, 2022
We are trying to have a more normal convention expirence this summer, while at the same time maintaining a safe environment for our members and guests. We will be following CDC guidelines and working closely with state and local officials to implement necessary safety precautions in place at time of the event.

In addition to the personal precautions we are asking of our members and staff, we will be sanitizing the panel rooms between each event. This means we will need to be selective in the content we offer as we will have less spots available for panels and events. We appreciate your patience as we sanitize the rooms to help keep everyone safe.

Temperature checks will be required
This year we are adding temperature checks to our arsenal to fight COVID. We will be taking temperatures and giving wristbands at Registration, Badge Pick-up, or Info Desk. Temperature checks are to be done daily.

Masks will be required
Masks will be required in all convention areas (Convention Center side and the Sheraton). We highly recommend that all eligible people attending AnimeFest are vaccinated, but we will not be requiring proof of vaccination for entry.

Per CDC guidelines, we require masks be worn at all times for anyone over the age of 2 years old. Certain exceptions will be made such as:
[*]Presenters during panels or workshops while socially distanced
[*]While eating or drinking in designated areas
[*]For the convenience of having their lips read by a person who is deaf or hard of hearing
This policy is subject to change based on changes to CDC guidelines, local regulations or other data.

CDC Guide to Wearing Masks

CDC recommends that people wear masks in public settings, at events and gatherings, and anywhere they will be around other people. The CDC has a handy guide to proper mask usage found here.

Repeated requests to ask you to wear your mask properly in convention space could result in an invitation to leave the convention.

As A Reminder
If you are showing any symptoms (fever, cough, muscle or body aches, sore throat, runny nose, etc.) we ask that you keep the health and safety of your other con-goers in mind and avoid coming this year. If you are able, we highly recommend you get vaccinated for COVID-19.

We appreciate your cooperation as we strive to make the guest experience as safe as possible for all. Although preventative measures set forth by World Fandom and the facility are intended to help reduce the spread of COVID-19, we cannot guarantee you will not be exposed during your visit. An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and Guests with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. We encourage all of our members to continue to stay safe, continue to take precautions (wearing a mask, social distancing, washing hands, etc.) and (if you are able) to get vaccinated.

If you are interested in getting the COVID vaccine, you can find a location near you at
